Cortland police seek hit and run suspect

CORTLAND, N.Y. — Police are looking for the owner of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian who was crossing the Tompkins and Main Street intersection early Saturday morning.

At about 2:35 a.m., the pedestrian was struck by the vehicle, sustaining minor head and back injuries.

The vehicle is a small, light brown, four-door sedan with gold New York State plates possibly containing the letters "GX." The vehicle should also have minor front end and hood damage, police said.

The vehicle was last seen traveling west on Tompkins Street. Anyone with information on the identify of the vehicle or the driver is asked to call the Cortland Police Department.
