Cortland's annual 'Chill-a-Bration' returns Saturday

CORTLAND, N.Y. — This is Chill-A-Bration's 10th year and has become an anticipated mid-winter attraction downtown. It brings in well over 1,000 people to the Main Street area, giving restaurants and retailers a chance to show off their range of items.

Running 12 - 4 p.m., Sat., Feb. 11, more than 20 businesses will feature either a winter menu item to sample, or will prepare a special chili entry to compete for the title of “Cortland Area's Best Chili" and "Favorite Winter Flavor".

Chill-A-Bration goers are encouraged to cast a ballot for their favorite samples by 4:30pm. There's good incentive to vote, not only to support your favorite restaurants, but also, two ballots will be drawn for prizes.

$15 ticket includes collectible Chill-A-Bration mug, 20 tasting tickets, map and tasting guide, and ballot. (There is not a children's packet, but note that ticket packets can be split and shared. Even those with the heartiest of appetites have trouble consuming more than 10 samples.)

**Tickets with mugs purchased online may ONLY be picked up at the Local Food Market, 37 N Main St., Cortland the day of the event from 8:00am to 1:00pm. Unclaimed tickets will be released after 1:00pm that day.**

In-person cash and check sales of Chill-A-Bration mugs with tickets will be available February 6 at The Local Food Market 37 N Main St., Cortland and Cortland Beer Company, 16 Court St., Cortland.

The weekend also features NY Masters Alpine Ski Racing with our partners in SKI Cortland.

Proceeds from this event help support future Chill-A-Bration celebrations and allow the Cortland Downtown Partnership to present family-friendly events that market the heart of our city, Historic Downtown Cortland.
