HOMER, N.Y. — One person was killed in a fatal snowmobile accident in the town of Homer Saturday night, the Cortland County Sheriff's Office said.
At around 7 p.m., the Cortland County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported snowmobile accident on Chapman Road, Snowmobile Trail Number S57, in the town of Homer.
The snowmobile, which was only occupied by the operator, was traveling in a northerly direction, the sheriff's office said.
The operator was pronounced dead at Cortland Regional Medical Center. The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of family members.
Agencies that assisted at the scene were TLC Ambulance, the Homer Fire Department, Truxton Fire Department, Seven Valley Snowgoers Snowmobile Club and CNY Towing.
