Dryden, New York – Tompkins Cortland Community College will celebrate the achievements of nearly 625 graduates during its 48th Commencement ceremony Thursday, May 25.

The ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the college gymnasium.

President Carl Haynes, who is retiring from the College this summer after 48 years of service, will deliver the keynote address. Haynes, the College’s third president, became president in 1994 after starting his career as a faculty member and climbing up through the ranks of the administration. His 23 years as president represents the longest tenure of any president in the College’s history.

This year’s ceremony will also include remarks from Board of Trustees Chair Elizabeth Burns and Student Trustee Manpreet Kaur.

Individual students will be honored for academic-related achievement, and faculty and staff will receive various Chancellors/Trustees' Awards for Excellence. Distinguished Alumni will be recognized, as will two Friends of the College.
