Homer man charged with driving while intoxicated with child in vehicle

Narrative: On Sat., July 8, at around 7:20 p.m., officers from the Cortland County Sheriff's Department stopped a vehicle on Route 41 in the town of Homer for a driver who reportedly crossed over hazardous markings. The operator, 68-year-old Matthew Klemm, was found to be intoxicated, and had a child less than 15 years of age as a passenger in the vehicle, authorities said. Klemm was taken into custody, processed, arraigned in Homer Town Court and released. The child was released to family members at the scene. Klemm is scheduled to appear in court on July 18.
