MCLEAN, N.Y. – Firefighters from the McLean Volunteer Fire Department have received two pet oxygen masks used to protect pets during fires.

Invisible Fence of the Southern Tier is the group behind the donation, which is part of Invisible Fence Brand's "Project Breathe." The program has provided pet oxygen masks to fire stations across the U.S. and Canada, including the cities of Rochester, Buffalo, Cleveland, and Chicago.

"When a family suffers the tragedy of a fire, lives are turned upside down," said Daniel Kelly of the Invisible Fence of the Southern Tier. "Pets are valued family members, so we want families to know that their pet can be cared for if tragedy strikes."

Invisible Fence Brand has donated a total of more than 10,000 pet oxygen masks to fire departments nationwide, according to its website.
