Cortlandville firefighters put out car fire in Solon

The Cortlandville Fire Department put out a fire in the Town of Solon on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters reported to Telephone Road in Solon for a “property damage motor vehicle accident” at 4:05 p.m. Saturday, according to the Cortlandville fire’s report.

Once Cortlandville firefighters arrived on scene, they found a car engulfed in flames. Assistant fire chief Mike Biviano noted the fire started due to a mechanical issue in the car.

Firefighters quickly put out the fire, and temporarily closed the road between Telephone Road and North Tower Road. Cortlandville’s crew cleared the area within 45 minutes.

The report states that no injuries occurred at the scene. Biviano noted that his department or the state will not conduct an investigation further into the car fire.
