Update: 2 teens dead after Cortland County rollover

Update: Two 17-year-olds are dead after a Friday night rollover in Cortland County, state police officials confirmed.

Driver Andrea F. Czimmer, 17, died at the scene and Alexis R. Porter, 17, died at Upstate University Hospital, police said.

Passanger Michael K. Conlon, 18, is in stable condition with rib and internal injuries at Upstate University hospital.

Police said the one-car rollover happened at 7:32 p.m. Friday on Interstate 81 southbound in the Town of Preble.

Witnesses told police that Czimmer lost control of her vehicle while exiting and flipped over a grassy median several times, ejecting Conlon from the vehicle.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated.

PREBLE, N.Y. – A rollover in Cortland County Friday night left one person dead and two injured, news reports say.

The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on Interstate 81 southbound near Exit 13 in Preble, WXHC radio reports. 

The road was closed while New York State Police officials investigated the crash, News Channel 9 reports.

A trooper with the state police in Ithaca said more information will be released Saturday morning.
