Tornado warning lifted for Tompkins, Cayuga counties; severe thunderstorms hit Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Cortland and Chenango counties until 12:30 a.m.

Earlier, a tornado warning was issued for parts of Tompkins County that lasted until about 11:45 p.m.

Emergency crews were called to Cold Brook Road at around 11:30 p.m. for a report of electrical wires down. Crews plan to shut the road down, according to emergency radio reports.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 1 a.m.
