Driver charged in Dryden crash that injured 2 people

DRYDEN, N.Y. – A 95-year-old Ithaca woman was charged with failure to yield the right of way after a crash in the town of Dryden Friday that sent two people to the hospital, the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.

At around 2 p.m. Friday, Charlene A. Miller was traveling northbound on Lower Creek Road when she failed to yield the right of way at the intersection with Route 13, striking a vehicle traveling westbound on the highway, deputies said. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage in the crash.

Miller was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse by helicopter. The other driver was taken by ambulance to Cayuga Medical Center. Both were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Miller is scheduled to appear in Dryden Town Court on October 26.

The Dryden Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance assisted at the scene.
