Update: Route 90 re-opened after Homer motorcycle crash

Update 5:50 p.m. 

Route 90 has reopened to traffic following an accident involving a motorcycle and a large truck Monday afternoon in the town of Homer.

The road was shut down for about four hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a regional trauma center. His condition is unknown, according to Cortland County Undersheriff Herb Barnahrt.

Barnhart said the sheriff's department will release more information about the accident Monday night.

HOMER. N.Y. – Emergency crews are responding to an accident that happened on Route 90 in Homer Monday afternoon.

Homer fire and rescue crews were called to a report of an accident involving a motorcycle and a dump truck at the intersection of Route 90 and Sweeney Road at around 12:55 p.m. Monday, according to emergency dispatchers.

A helicopter was called to the scene but was later cancelled, a dispatcher said.

One patient is being transported by TLC Ambulance to a regional trauma center.

The Cortland Police Department has blocked off the intersection of Route 90 and Route 281 as crews investigate the accident.
