Fire destroys barn at Amish farm in Marathon

MARATHON, N.Y. – Multiple fire departments responded to a barn fire in the town of Marathon early Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to a report of a barn fire at 3690 Pine Hill Road in the town of Marathon at around 12:25 p.m. Tuesday.

The barn was fully engulfed in flames by the time crews arrived, according to Marathon Deputy Fire Chief Larri Leet.

Leet said firefighters dealt with heavy winds and limited manpower as they battled the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Fire departments from Cincinnatus, Harford, Virgil, Cortlandville, and Willet provided mutual aid.
