Rain will be heavy at times late Tuesday afternoon through the evening hours before gradually diminishing by Wednesday.

An average of 2 to 4 inches of rain is expected across the flood watch area, though some locations could exceed 4 inches, which could lead to localized flash flooding.

Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Another low pressure system could bring another significant rainfall event later this week and into the weekend, leading to a greater potential for more significant flooding, forecasters say.
