Of the acquisition, Bailey Place Insurance President Stephen Franco said, “We are excited and honored that Brad and Doug Cotterill chose to partner with our agency. It was important to them to sell their agency to an independent and locally owned agency with a strong commitment to the Dryden community.” Franco noted that Bailey Place Insurance has been doing business in Dryden for 80 years.
As part of the acquisition, Bailey Place has purchased the Cotterill office building and will be relocating their Dryden branch to the Cotterill building after completing some renovation work in early 2016. Doug and Brad Cotterill will remain involved during the transition and two of their long time employees, Veronica Hall and Chrystle Terwilliger, will be joining the Bailey Place team.
“This was simply a great fit,” said Doug Cotterill. “We wanted to do what we felt would be best for our clients, our employees and the Dryden community. Our clients will continue to receive the same quality, friendly service they are accustomed to, but will also have access to more insurance companies and see improvements in technology.”
“The Cotterill Agency is well regarded in the insurance industry for their knowledge and professionalism and has been a market leader in Cortland and Tompkins County for over 20 years. We are excited to have the opportunity to serve their customers,” said Franco.
Bailey Place Insurance is a leading independent insurance agency with 3 offices in Central New York and 25 employees. They represent most major insurance companies and provide comprehensive insurance and risk management services for families, businesses, municipalities, and nonprofit organizations across the region.
