At around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, state police responded to a report of a car/pedestrian accident on Route 13, near Kirk Road, in the town of Dryden.

Police determined that Michelle D. Drake, 47, of Dryden, had left her home and was attempting to walk across from the west shoulder to the east shoulder of Route 13 when she was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu being driven by Mark C. O'Malley, 66, of Freeville.

Drake was found unconscious and severely injured in the roadway. She was transported by ambulance to Cayuga Medical Center and then airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, P.A.

Drake died from her injuries Friday morning, police said. An autopsy will be performed by the Bradford County coroner.

No charges are pending against the driver. Police say the investigation is continuing.
