CORTLAND, N.Y. – Cortland Memorial Foundation recently received a donation from The Greater Homer Retail Partnership for the support of breast cancer patients.

The group raised over $700 during their special fundraising event, “Together We Can Make a Difference!”, with a portion of the October 15th sales given to the Foundation in support of Cortland Regional Medical Center and its mission.

These funds will be used as gift cards to be given to qualified breast cancer patients to cover extra out-of-pocket, non-medical expenses they incur while undergoing diagnosis and treatment for their Breast Cancer. These expenses may include: gasoline and other transportation costs for medical appointments, nutritional supplements, and over-the-counter medical and wound supplies.

The Foundation thanks The Greater Homer Retail Partnership for this gift and appreciates their fundraising efforts for this special cause.

For more information on other breast cancer support programs offered at Cortland Regional Medical Center, please contact Julie Niederhofer, Cancer Nurse Navigator, at 756-3165 or Cortland Memorial Foundation at 756-3757.
