Crews respond to crash at busy Cortland intersection

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Emergency crews responded to a two-car crash at a busy intersection in the city of Cortland Monday afternoon.

Shortly after 3 p.m., emergency crews were called to a report of a crash at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Church Street in the city.

A Jeep Cherokee was found rolled over on its side when emergency crews arrived at the scene. The driver was transported to Cortland Regional Medical Center by TLC Ambulance for an evaluation, though the injuries appear to be minor, according to City of Cortland Deputy Fire Chief Wayne Friedman.

The driver and the occupants of an SUV also involved in the crash declined an ambulance, Friedman said. The SUV suffered front end damage in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains unclear, Friedman said.

The City of Cortland Police Department, the City of Cortland Fire Department and TLC Ambulance all responded to the scene.
