Cortland man arrested for allegedly choking his girlfriend

CORTLAND, N.Y. – A Cortland man was arrested Sunday for allegedly choking his girlfriend following a physical dispute.

Kareem A. Wilson, 22, is charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, a misdemeanor, and second degree harassment, a violation.

The arrest occurred after state police responded to a Cortland County 911 report of a dispute at a home on Chelsea Drive in Cortlandville.

An investigation determined that during a physical dispute with his girlfriend, Wilson began to punch and then choke her.

Wilson was arraigned in Cortlandville Town Court and released without bail.
