Cortland man arrested in cocaine investigation

CORTLAND, N.Y. – A Cortland man was arrested last week in connection with an investigation into cocaine and crack cocaine sales in the city, state police announced Friday.

On Thurs., Nov .12, the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET), with help from the Cortland County Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at 43 East Ave in the city of Cortland.

The warrant was the result of an investigation into the sale of cocaine and crack cocaine in the city, police said.

Bernard J. Dukes, 34, was arrested and charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C felony. He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Dukes was arraigned in City of Cortland Court and remanded to Cortland County Jail on $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.

– Tarus .38 Special 5 shot revolver with 23 rounds of 38 caliber ammunition
– 25 rounds of 32 caliber Horandy ammunition
– ankle holster
– Sentry safe
– cell phones
– 2 digital scales
– packaging material
– drug paraphernalia
– coffee filters with cocaine residue
– $256,00
– small amount of marijuana
