Homer man charged with DWI had BAC three times the legal limit, police say

CORTLANDVILLE, N.Y. — A Homer man was charged with driving under the influence Saturday after being stopped at a DWI road check in Cortlandville.

At around 10:15 p.m. Saturday, state police arrested John P. Nichols, 49, of Homer for aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

Nichols was stopped at a DWI checkpoint on Route 11 in the town of Cortlandville Saturday evening. He was found to have a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of .21 percent, more than three times the legal limit, according to police.

Nichols was issued tickets returnable to Cortlandville Town Court Dec. 7.
