Three arrested following physical dispute in Homer

HOMER, N.Y. – Three people were arrested Sunday following a physical dispute at a town of Homer residence.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff's Department responded to 1816 O'Shea Road in the town of Homer for a reported physical altercation.

Deputies learned that Cathy I. Morris, Kevin J. Coon and Charles W. Morse were involved in a physical altercation at the residence.

Coon and Morse sustained injuries related to the incident, police said. Coon, Morse and Morris were all charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

Morse was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, for prescription pills he possessed without a proper prescription.

Coon, Morris and Morse were all arraigned in Homer Town Court Sunday. Morris was released on her own recognizance and is due to appear in the same court Jan. 5. Coon and Morse were arraigned and sent to Cortland County Jail with bail set at $500 cash and $1,000 bond.

Both are scheduled to appear in Homer Town Court Jan. 5.
