Police: Cuyler man drove drunk with 1-year-old in vehicle

CORTLAND, N.Y. — A Cuyler man was charged with a felony DWI after being pulled over in the city of Cortland Sunday night, the Cortland County Sheriff's Department announced Thursday.

Thomas J. Marks, 27, was driving a 2004 Dodge Durango on Clinton Avenue Ext. when he was pulled over for vehicle and traffic violations, authorities said.

Marks was later found to be intoxicated while traveling with a 1-year-old passenger in the vehicle, the sheriff's department said. Authorities said Marks was also in possession of hypodermic needles.

He was charged with aggravated DWI with a child passenger, a felony, DWI, DWI with  a B.A.C. greater than 0.08%, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a hypodermic instrument and numerous vehicle and traffic violations.

Marks was arraigned in Cortland City Court and remanded to the Cortland County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.
