Dryden man charged with felony DWI following crash

DRYDEN, N.Y. — A Tompkins County man faces several felony charges after authorities say he crashed his car while driving drunk on St. Patrick's Day.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to the intersection of Route 13 and Lower Creek Road in the town of Dryden for a report of a personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Deputies interviewed Eric M. Kitzi, 24, of Dryden, who showed signs of impairment and intoxication, deputies said. A DWI investigation led to his arrest.

Kitzi was charged with driving while intoxicated, a class E felony driving while intoxicated with a BAC of .08 percent or greater, a class E Felony; first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a class E felony; refusal to take breath test, a violation, and following too close, also a violation.

He was arraigned in Lansing Town Court and taken to the Tompkins County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
