Homer man charged with assault in domestic incident

HOMER, N.Y. — A village of Homer man was arrested Tuesday after being involved in a physical altercation with a female victim, the Homer Police Department said.

On Tuesday, officers from the Homer Police Department, the Cortland County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a home on Cayuga Street in the village of Homer.

According to Homer police, 33-year-old Matthew I. Booker was involved in a physical altercation with an unidentified female victim who he assaulted. Booker also damaged and stole the victim's property, the department said.

Booker was located in the area of the residence and taken into custody without incident. He was charged with third-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny, all misdemeanors.

Booker was arraigned in Homer Town Court and taken to Cortland County Jail on $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond.
