Police: Cortland man, high on marijuana, drove vehicle into ditch

DRYDEN, N.Y. — A Cortland man was under the influence of marijuana when he drove into a ditch in the town of Dryden on Wednesday, according to New York State Police.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday, state police responded to a one-car property damage accident on Livermore Road in Dryden.

An investigation determined that Kareem A. Wilson, 23, of Cortland, was "under the influence of marihuana" when he drove into a ditch, police said in a news release.

Police searched Wilson's vehicle and reportedly found about 41 grams of marijuana.

Wilson was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, both misdemeanors.

He was issued tickets returnable to Dryden Town Court on May 11.
