Dryden man charged in hit and run incident

CAROLINE, N.Y. — A Dryden man was arrested Saturday after intentionally hitting another vehicle in the town of Caroline, New York State Police said in a news release.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday, a Tompkins County 911 dispatcher received a report of a hit and run accident on Speedhill Road in Caroline.

Robert H. Predmore, 24, intentionally drove his 1998 Jeep Cherokee into another occupied moving vehicle and drove away, police said in a news release.

A sheriff's deputy later caught up with Predmore, who then tried to flee on foot. He was arrested after a short chase.

Predmore was  charged with felony third-degree criminal mischief, misdemeanor second-degree reckless endangerment, and multiple traffic violations, police said.

He was arraigned in Caroline Town Court and taken to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. He was scheduled to appear in court today.
