Cortland man charged with burglary

HOMER, N.Y. — A Cortland man has been charged in connection with a burglary that was reported in the village of Homer late last month.

Zachary J. Morgan, 18, of Cortland, has been charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony, and fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.

On April 26, at around 10:30 p.m., officers from the Homer Police Department responded to a reported trespass in progress at a building on James Street.

An investigation found that Morgan forcefully entered the building with the intent to steal items, Homer police said.

Morgan was arraigned in Homer Town Court and released on his own recognizance. His next scheduled court appearance is May 11.
