Groton man identified as victim in fatal motorcycle crash

SUMMERHILL, N.Y. – A 28-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene after colliding with an SUV in the town of Summerhill Tuesday afternoon, the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office said.

At about 2:30 p.m., the driver of a 2012 Subaru SUV was traveling northbound on Lake Como Road when she made a left turn onto Fillmore Road into the path of a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle, according to Cayuga County Sheriff David Gould.

The driver of the motorcycle, Jeremy R. Parsons, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene. Jane E. Brown, 33, of Locke, identified as driver of the SUV, was not hurt in the crash.

Traffic charges are pending, the sheriff's office said. The crash remains under investigation.

The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Cayuga County 911, the Cayuga County Coroner's Office, New York State Police, Four Town Ambulance and the Homer Fire Department.
