Cortland sheriff's office looking for witnesses who saw man carrying child Sunday

CORTLAND, N.Y. — The Cortland County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in an ongoing investigation involving a man who was seen carrying a child in the towns of Solon and Freetown on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities are looking for anyone who may have observed a dark-haired white male in his late 20's, 5'11" tall, of medium build and wearing shorts carrying an infant child while walking on Route 41 in Solon and East Freetown between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday, May 31.

Authorities did not say if the man was suspected of a crime. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cortland County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division at 607-758-6151.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office is continuing an investigation that originated on Sunday May 29th, 2016.

We are looking for anyone who may have observed or had contact with a white male in his late 20’s aged, dark hair, 5’11’’ tall and of medium build wearing shorts and carrying an infant child while walking on Route 41 in the Towns of Solon and East Freetown between the hours of 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM.

Anyone who may have had this observation/contact with this subject is asked to contact the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 607-758-6151.
