CORTLAND, N.Y. – Taste of Downtown returns Saturday, July 9, 12-4 p.m. as Historic Downtown Cortland’s signature summer event showcasing the variety and creativity of its restaurants in a self-guided tasting tour peppered with music, vendors, and attractions.
We are pleased to have 23 stops on the map with possibly the most creative items on the menu in the event’s history: Labneh at Pita Gourmet, Waffle Fry Sliders at Deli Downtown, “Free Chunk” cocktail at Brix Pubaria, to name a few.
Restaurants compete for the honor of their sample being elected the Favorite Flavor, but there’s an added perk this year – a $100 prize and the honor of displaying the new Taste of Downtown Favorite Flavor trophy. The inaugural Favorite Flavor trophy will be unveiled July 6 at the Community Restaurant (10 Main Street) whose Pot Roast Slider was voted Favorite Flavor in 2015. The trophy will remain at Community Restaurant and be presented to the 2016 winner after votes are tallied July 9.

Taste of Downtown tickets are $15.00 and the first 600 customers will receive a free 10th anniversary glass with their ticket pack containing 20 food sample tickets, three adult beverage sample tickets, ballot, and a brochure to navigate the tasting stops throughout Historic Downtown Cortland.
Look for the Taste of Downtown logo on the sidewalk at the entrance of participating locations. Be sure to cast a ballot for the Favorite Flavor at Cortland Beer Co., The Local Food Market, or Frosted by 4:30 p.m. The winner will be posted at 5:00pm on Cortland Downtown Partnership’s Facebook page.
Advance ticket sales begin June 27 and end when sold out or 2 p.m. the day of the event. This is a very popular event and supplies and samples are limited. If visiting Cortland from out of town, you may call Jane Witty at (607) 591 - 7903 to have tickets held as will-call to be picked up before 2 p.m. July 9 at The Local Food Market.

Street Entertainment
Hourly music performances at two locations will play throughout the event. A Starry Circus will perform wondrous juggling and acrobatic feats throughout the day on the street.

There is plenty of free parking in public lots and on-street throughout downtown.
A Community Organized Event
A Taste of Downtown is an annual event in its tenth year produced by the Cortland Downtown Partnership’s (CDP) Promotions Committee. The committee is comprised of volunteer community members who want to make Historic Downtown Cortland a better place live, work, and celebrate.
