This year's Independence Day fireworks celebration at Dwyer Memorial Park in Little York will take place Sunday, July 3, at 10 p.m. In the event of poor weather, the event will be held July 5.
The event has become special for the entire Little York community and the county as a whole. The park will be full and there will be celebrations all around the lake as the fireworks explode overhead.
Live entertainment will be provided by the Cortland Oldtimers Band, and Cortland Repertory Theatre Guild will have food inside the pavilion. The show is free, though there is a minimal charge for parking.
At least 1,000 people are expected to attend, according to the Cortland County Chamber of Commerce.
