Police: Cortland man stabbed by son following dispute

GREENE, N.Y. — A Cortland man was treated for stab wounds Thursday following a physical domestic dispute at a home in Greene, N.Y., according to New York State Police.

At around 2:20 a.m., police responded to a report of a physical domestic dispute at a home on Stein Road in the village of Greene.

An investigation revealed that Anthony A. Bowman, 44, of Cortland, was involved in an argument with his son, identified as Anthony L. Bowman, 20, of Greene.

The younger Brown stabbed his father multiple times in the torso, police said in a news release. The elder Bowman was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital by Greene Ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening stab wounds.

Anthony L. Bowman was charged with first-degree assault, a class B felony. He was arraigned in Oxford Town Court and remanded to Chenango County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.
