CORTLAND, N.Y. — A city resident was sentenced Thursday to two years in prison and 10 years of probation in connection with a reported rape last year.
Clajon Lawson, 23, of South Ave, previously pleaded guilty in June to first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony, as part of a plea deal.
He had faced more serious charges of first-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual act, both class B felonies.
Lawson was arrested by Cortland police in November in connection with a reported rape in July 2015.
Police said Lawson had sexual intercourse with a 20-year-old woman who was intoxicated and unable to give consent.
