Scott man gets six-month jail sentence for producing meth

CORTLAND, N.Y. — A Cortland County man was sentenced to six months in county jail for manufacturing methamphetamine at a home in the town of Scott earlier this year.

Larry W. Gantt, Jr., 22, was sentenced in Cortland County Court Tuesday to a six-month jail sentence followed by five years of probation, according to an official in the court clerk's office.

He previously pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class F felony charge, as part of a plea deal.

On April 6, Gantt and Nicholas S. Partis, who was listed as homeless, were taken into custody by sheriff's deputies for allegedly manufacturing meth at a residence on Switch Road in Scott. Authorities also found heroin and drug paraphernalia at the home.
