CORTLAND, N.Y. — Local defense attorney Patrick Perfetti has received the support of four different political parties in his bid to be the next district attorney for Cortland County.

Perfetti announced Monday that he has received endorsements from the Independence, Conservative and Reform parties in this year's election. Also running as a Republican, he will appear on all four ballot lines in the November election.

"My priority is to be a District Attorney for all of the people of Cortland County – no matter their party affiliation or background," Perfetti said in a press release.

Perfetti, 52, currently serves as the managing attorney at Perfetti Law Offices in Cortland. He also provides legal services for the village of McGraw and town of Lapeer.

Incumbent Democrat Mark Suben, who was elected in 2008, is seeking his third term in office. Perfetti has criticized Suben for lying about his roles in several pornographic films in the 1970s. When Suben was initially confronted with the accusations, he denied the claims until after his re-election.

This year's general election takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
