Two men arrested after afternoon burglary in Dryden

DRYDEN, N.Y. — Two Ithaca men were arrested on Wednesday after allegedly burglarizing a Dryden home, according to New York State Police.

Javier Acosta, 38, and John Romero, 31, both from Ithaca, were charged with burglary in the 2nd degree, a felony.

New York State Police responded to a burglary complaint at a home on Forest Lane in the Town of Dryden at around 2:16 p.m. on Wednesday. An investigation determined that Acosta and Romero had entered this home without permission and stole change and electronics. They were observed leaving in a white 2008 Honda CRV.

The two were arrested shortly after when they drove to Acosta's home, police say.

Both were arraigned in the adjoining Town of Lansing court and were remanded to the Tompkins County jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 property bond.  Their next court date in the Town of Dryden is pending.
