Onondaga Co. Sheriff's Office to honor men who helped rescue Homer girl

SKANEATELES, N.Y. — Two men who helped rescue 8-year-old Kaelynne Driscoll from Skaneateles Lake will be honored Tuesday by the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office.

Eric Marcinowski and David Goetzmann will be recognized in a ceremony at the Skaneateles Fire Department at 77 West Genessee Street.

According to the sheriff's office, the pair witnessed the July 6 boating accident and helped bring the Homer girl to safety. Driscoll lost an arm and a leg in the incident, while her father, Christopher Driscoll, suffered less serious injuries.

The ceremony begins at 7 p.m.
