Truxton man charged with DWI in Homer crash

HOMER, N.Y. — Authorities charged a Truxton man with driving while intoxicated following a crash in the town of Homer early Sunday morning.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to an accident at East River and Youngs Crossings roads in the town of Homer.

Robert P. Williams, 40 of Truxton, who was uninjured in the crash, was found to be intoxicated at the wheel, according to the sheriff's office.

Williams was charged with misdemeanors of driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated.

He was processed at the Cortland County Public Safety Building and released to a friend. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Homer Town Court on Nov. 15.

Officers were assisted at the scene by the Truxton Fire Department and Smith Ambulance.
