Scott woman charged with driving while impaired by drugs after crashing into vehicle

GROTON, N.Y. — State police arrested a woman from Cortland County on Tuesday in connection with a crash in the town of Groton.

The arrest occurred after troopers responded to a 911 report of a two-car crash at the intersection of School Street and Gulf Hill Road in the town of Groton.

An investigation determined that Jennifer A. Purves, 39, of Scott, was driving while impaired by drugs when she crashed into the vehicle in front of her.

Purves was charged with a misdemeanor of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, along with several traffic violations. Police said Purves consented to a blood test for drugs, though the lab results are pending.

She was issued tickets returnable to Groton Town Court on Nov. 14.
