Cortland Repertory Theatre Downtown welcomes back an audience favorite for a one-night concert with TODD MEREDITH – UNPLUGGED, on Saturday, November 19, at 7:30 PM.

Meredith is best known as playing the title role in CRT’s 2013 summer production of “Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story”, which he also co-directed with CRT’s Producing Artistic Director Kerby Thompson. He also appeared in CRT’s production of “Ring of Fire – The Music of Johnny Cash”, and began his performance career at CRT as an 2006 intern, appearing in “Annie Get Your Gun”, “It Runs in the Family” and “Murder on the Nile”. He has returned numerous times to CRT Downtown with his band The Rave-Ons, performing hits by Buddy Holly and others; in fact the group was the grand opening act of the new CRT Downtown building in May 2015.

The upcoming concert is a more intimate arrangement than previous events, however. Meredith will be joined by just one other guitarist, Jeremy Renner, in an “unplugged” acoustic evening of great music. These two talented musicians will perform original songs plus favorites by Buddy, Elvis, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Billy Joel, James Taylor and more. The evening is fashioned after the “MTV Unplugged” series, in a ¾ seating arrangement with cabaret tables very close to the stage. A beer/wine cash bar will be available. Tickets are $32.00 for adults and $30.00 for seniors and students. Tickets are available by calling 800-427-6160, online at cortlandrep.org or at the CRT Downtown Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street.

Meredith is originally from Buffalo, NY. After getting his start at CRT, he first played Buddy Holly in the Glove Theater's production of “Buddy!”, in Gloverville, NY. He has since played the title role in 19 professional productions of Buddy, including two national tours and he recorded a tribute album consisting of his 15 favorite Buddy Holly songs. Coming up next for Todd, he will be playing the role of Carl Perkins in Million Dollar Quartet at the Riverside Center in Fredericksburg, VA. When not touring with his band or performing in jukebox musicals, Todd lives in Barnegat, New Jersey.
