CORTLAND, N.Y. — A Cortland man who was arrested on a parole violation in April was sentenced Thursday to five years in prison, according to officials in the Cortland County Clerk's office.
William R. Clark, 28, was arrested on April 8 on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
The arrest came after New York State Police and members of the Cortland County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at two apartments on Northcliffe Road in Cortland. Police seized 0.2 ounces of crack cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, a marijuana grinder, a crack pipe, three digital scales and $110 in cash.
At the time of his arrest, Clark was on parole for a previous drug sale conviction in Cortland County, police said.
Clark was sentenced before Judge Julie Campbell Thursday morning.
