About Us: Meet Peter Blanchard, editor and founder of The Cortland Voice

Peter is the editor and founder of The Cortland Voice.

Born in Long Island, N.Y., Peter's family relocated to Pennsylvania when he was just 2 years old. He spent his childhood in the small town of Dallas, Penn., where he gained an appreciation for rural landscapes and country living.

Yearning for something different, he attended Ithaca College in 2008. While attending classes, Peter took part in a number of campus activities, including: WICB (Ithaca College Radio), where he became News Director his senior year; Ithaca College Television, where he moderated a mayoral debate and hosted a political talk show called Experts Say; Buzzsaw Magazine and 360 Magazine, where he contributed writing.

In 2012, he received a bachelor's degree in Journalism. Two months later, he was hired by Cayuga Radio Group in Ithaca, N.Y., as a news reporter/anchor. He left that job in 2015 to launch the Cortland Voice. He has since developed a fond appreciation for the people of Cortland and everything the community has to offer.
