MARATHON, N.Y. — A Cortland County woman was driving drunk when she crashed her car in the town of Marathon Tuesday night, according to state police.
Shortly before 11 p.m., troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Steve Russell Hill Road in Marathon.
An investigation determined that 43-year-old Kelly J. Barber, of Marathon, was driving while intoxicated when she drove off the roadway, struck a telephone pole and came to rest in a ditch, police said in a news release. Barber was not injured in the crash.
Barber was charged with a misdemeanor of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of .18 percent, along with several traffic violations.
She was issued tickets to appear in Marathon Town Court on Dec. 21.
