Police: Cortland man displayed rifle in road rage incident

CORTLAND, N.Y. — A Cortland man has been charged with menacing after he allegedly displayed a hunting rifle during a dispute with another driver.

Drew S. Gardner, 19, was arrested after troopers responded to a 911 report of a road rage incident that occurred on State Route 281 in Cortland Saturday afternoon.

An investigation determined that, during a dispute with another driver, Gardner displayed a hunting rifle that was in his vehicle with him, police said.

Police charged Gardner with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.

Gardner was issued a ticket to appear in Homer Town Court next month.
