At around 6 p.m., the Cortland Fire Department was called to a two-car accident on Homer Avenue, near Hyde's Diner.

Responding crews arrived to find that one of the vehicles took out a power line, causing it to fall on top of the vehicle and leaving one person trapped inside.

Firefighters had to wait for power to be shut off before extricating the person from the vehicle, officials said.
