VIDEO: Masked intruder smashes glass, breaks into Cortland business

CORTLAND, N.Y. — Police are looking to identify a masked person who was caught on camera breaking into a downtown business.

The burglary at Cell Kingz on South Main Street occurred on Friday, Dec. 30, at about 3 a.m., according to the Cortland Police Department.

Surveillance footage shows a person wearing what appears to be an orange mask and a dark-colored hoodie and jeans pacing in front of the business before smashing the glass of the front door.

It’s unclear if the incident is related to a burglary that occurred at Tikki’s Adult Boutqiue in Cortlandville that same evening. In that case, the suspect broke through a glass window to enter the store and steal merchandise, according to the Cortland County Sheriff's Office.

Anyone who can identify the suspect in the video is asked to contact the police department, which can be done via Facebook or by calling their police headquarters at 607-753-3001.
