Homer firefighters extinguish vehicle fire that spread to house

HOMER, N.Y. — Homer firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a vehicle fire Sunday evening, the fire department said.

At around 5 p.m. Sunday, the Homer Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle on fire at a home in the town of Summerhill.

Firefighters arrived to find two vehicles on fire and the flames extending to the side of the house and near propane tanks.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire with no damage to the inside of the home, the department said.

The Moravia Fire Department was also called for assistance but was cancelled en route.
