A General Electric turbine shipment passed through Homer Saturday morning.
The turbine is being trucked from the GE plant in Schenectady to Berwick, Penn., using a combination of non-interstate roads in central New York.
About 50 people watched as the slow-moving, 345-foot long transporter vehicle — with a total weight of nearly 450 tons — traveled south on Route 281 Saturday morning:
