Cortland County man faces drug charges following car crash

SCOTT, N.Y. — A Cortland County man involved in a car accident in the town of Scott Saturday night was driving without a license and in possession of a controlled substance, the Cortland County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.

At around 7 p.m. Saturday, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff's Office were called to State Route 41 near the intersection of Country Lane in the town of Scott for a one-car motor vehicle accident.

The driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Logan Youngs, of Scott, was found to be driving without a license and in possession of a controlled substance, the sheriff's office said.

Youngs was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, along with vehicle and traffic violations.

He was transported to the Cortland County Public Safety Building and released on appearance tickets.
