CORTLAND, N.Y. — The village of Homer has new a mayor and a new board trustee, according to unofficial election results from the Cortland County Board of Elections.
Hal McCabe defeated three-term incumbent Genevieve Suits, who had served as the mayor for the village of Homer since 2010.
The board also elected a new trustee, with Democratic challenger Timothy Daley defeating Republican incumbent Eugene C. Smith. Board trustee Kevin Slack survived a challenge from Megan Williams, who ran as a Republican.
